Race Preview – Round 4 – Shipley Park – Heanor Clarion

As well as the weekly ‘Race Report’ the intention is now to have a ‘Race Preview’ feature each week on a Thursday. Obviously please make sure you check the ‘Notes for…’ page for each event, as this is where important information on parking, timings and other organisational issues will remain. The Race Preview will be looking at course news and conditions, weather forecasts, and current league standings.

Round 4, organised by Heanor Clarion, will be at Shipley Park. Conditions as of Wednesday were very dry, but there is rain forecast for Friday Saturday, which could make some of those grassy corners a little greasy.

The organisers have been working hard to bring us an exciting, fresh course, with the emphasis on flow. The familiar hills of Shipley will remain, which will be good or bad news, depending upon your preference for climbs. What goes up does come down of course though, remember…

The course itself has been freshly mown, with the start and finish areas having been relocated. This will mean the Under 9 and Under 12s will be treated to an entirely fresh course, which will help to accomodate more riders.

The organisers hope to have a commentator to keep us all entertained, so make sure you’re number is pinned on the right way up if you’re planning on being out the front at any point!

See you all at Shipley!
