Lee Shunburne (LS) reported that the signing on sheets are “almost there”.

Chairman’s report

Andy Naylor (AN) introduced Richard Edge (RE) to the meeting as the League’s new PR officer. He will be producing post reace reports, race previews, etc and getting them to the various media outlets.

Secretary’s report

Mary Gill (MG) read a note from Velo Bavarian requesting permission to attend League events. The meeting discussed at length and agreed that they would need to make arrangements with individual event organisers but should bring only SRAM equipped bikes.

ACTIONS: MG to e-mail Velo Bavarian.

Treasurer’s report

Sarah Naylor (SN) reported League affiliations: 25 clubs, 3 non-promoting and 15 private members. The Ticket Source method trialled for the 201515 season was not successful – considering spreadsheetbank transfer method for 201516 season.

Levies for Rounds 2 and 3 received totalling £4.5k, but not received for Round 1 or 4.

A problem within the prizelevies calculator spreadsheet meant that levies received from Round 2 were £100 down. As this was through no fault of the organisers the meeting voted to accept this “discrepancy”.

  • Proposer: SN; 2nd: Neil Mansfield (NM) – For 13, Against 0, Abstained 0 – CARRIED
The new queue labels for the signing-on tent have gone missing.

The first chip timing invoice has been received £.8k, Round 1’s first aid will be half price as officer arrived late and SRAM invoice still outstanding.

V50 women’s prize money is causing some controversy when category is split from V40 women.

Event reviews:

13 September – 1 – Team Empella- Hilton Fields Farm: Much discussioncriticism online about the course being a MTB course. Accident involving rider – first aid arrived late – highlights importance of organisers contacting First Aid before events.

20 September – 2 – Sherwood Pines SRAM RT – Sherwood Pines Forest Park: U9U12 lap too long. Again discussion about course being too much like a MTB course – organisers forced to make last minute changes and praised for making the best of a bad job. NM noted that the senior race was v interesting – able to watch all three races in – J, W and S.

27 September – 3 – Cycle Derby CC – Markeaton Park: Good course. Still a few problems with youngsters playing on the pitch and putt greens.

4 October – 4 – Heanor Clarion CC – Shipley Hall Cricket Club: Good course – changes really interesting. Number shuffle for vets helped lap recorders. There were problems with youngsters signing on (tables arriving late in rain) and women’s prizes (broken into sub categories creating value anomolies).

ML asked whether it might be possible to get copies of the Comms reports could come to League meetings.

NM queried whether the chip timing kit was reliable this season.

Karen Lifford (KL) reported problems with links in the League site caused by changes to BC site – action not required as BC site should be corrected.

Steve Hand (SH) informed the meeting that Bob Howe has taken over compiling U9 and U12 League tables. AN and the meeting sends thanks to Bob.

CR confirmed that the ZenithBuzz round will be at Darley Moor.

Tim Cooper (TC) commented that parents on the course in the U9s race is becoming particularly noticeable. Sherwood Pines course had a dangerous crossing point.

LS informed the meeting that the BC payments system is causing some problems.
