Holme sweet Holme – R6 preview

This Saturday sees the NDCXL return to the windswept landscape of Holme Pierrepont, courtesy of Nottingham Clarion.

The course retains most of the familiar features from previous seasons, with a few tweaks to keep everyone on their toes. Senior starts are back on the tarmac for that authentic Continental experience, and new bunnyhop-friendly hurdles have been specially commissioned.

For those racers not familiar with the venue, it’s almost all the way down Adbolton Lane, as though you’re heading towards the wakeboarding lake. If you reach Blotts Country Club, you’ve gone too far!

Nottm Clarion’s focus is on ensuring that everyone has a positive event, and we are working hard to make the parking as smooth as possible. To that end the car parking fee will be £2 less than last year at £3. Drivers are advised to try and bring sufficient change with them (no ‘old’ pound coins please!), and leave ample time for parking, as the logistics of entry and parking at the venue can sometimes cause issues.

If you’re going to bring a gazebo, please make sure it’s pegged down very securely. Last season’s ‘floating’ gazebo was momentarily amusing until everyone realised the damage it could have done to a passing rider…

By the way, please don’t consider washing bikes in the lake  – the geese are allergic to chain lube and the crocodiles are hungry.
